Woman Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash That Left Several Others Injured
One person died and seven others were injured following a three-car collision on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County.
Isabel Germosen, 66, of Biscayne Park, was one of five people in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that was involved in the collision, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 73-year-old driver of Boynton Beach and three passengers were also in the Elantra. Mia Cabay, who was a passenger in the Elantra, was taken to Delray Beach Trauma Center in serious condition while the others were taken to Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, where Germosen was pronounced dead, according to the FHP crash report.
A 45-year-old woman of Davie was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion. Joseph Aaron Tano, 25, and Victoria Marie Tano, 23, both of Miami, were in a 2010 Honda Accord. All three sustained minor injuries, the FHP said.
According to investigators, the Elantra driver lost control of the Elantra while driving south on I-75 approaching Wellington Parkway.
The Elantra swerved left and hit the Honda which struck a guardrail, overturned and came to rest on its roof.
The Elantra then spun clockwise and hit the Ford causing it to strike a concrete barrier wall before stopping on the shoulder of I-95. The Elantra also came to rest in the center lane, the FHP said.
The fatal collision is still under investigation.
