Two Killed In Wellington Motorcycle Crash On Interstate 95 Ramp
Two people died in a deadly motorcycle crash on Wellington Avenue on an Interstate 95 ramp, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 22-year-old of Palm Beach Gardens was thrown from his red 2012 Kawasaki Ninja just as he drove west on Wellington Avenue and tried to exit onto the I-95 north ramp, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said in a news release.
The 22-year-old man’s motorcycle slid off the left side of the ramp as it curved to the right. It overturned and traveled over both side of the highway and came to a rest in the grass median that separates the ramps from the I-95 northbound lanes, Florida Highway Patrol said.
A passenger of the motorcycle, a 19-year old from West Palm Beach, was taken a Medical Center in Davie, where she died from her injuries, troopers said.
Investigators said, both the 19-year-old and the 22-year-old wore motorcycle helmets and safety gear. The 22-year-old had a temporary motorcycle permit, the Florida Highway Patrol authorities said.
FHP Troopers said, speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
