Six Sent To The Hospital After A Multiple Car Crash In Boca Raton

Police are still investigating after three adults and three children were injured in a serious crash at Boca Raton.

Palm Beach highway 119

Initial information indicates that four vehicles collided during peak hour traffic  as they traveled northbound on the Boca Raton Highway.

One woman, age 51, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Delray Medical Center.

Three boys, ages 8, 9 and 10, also suffered serious head and facial injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

A 33-year-old man and 28-year-old woman also suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, which happened when a car driven by the 32-year-old had collided with a Hyundai driven by the 20-year-old.

Three northbound lanes of Boca Raton were closed for several hours, causing major traffic delays. Traffic was delayed for a while as paramedics attended to the injured. Cars were forced to merge across multiple lanes into one lane past the crash scene.

It appeared a number of cars spun out of control in the wet weather while trying to exit the highway. Police have urged motorists to slow down in the rain and drive to the conditions.

Boca Raton Highway had been reopen. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
