An out-of-control tractor-trailer hauling metal studs crashed into four homes in Palm Beach County, police said. The wild incident happened in the Davie neighborhood.
FHP sources said, the 24-year-old driver was traveling northbound on SW 39th Street when he got distracted and lost control of his vehicle and jumped the curb. The trucker, whose identity was not released, plowed into a parked car before careening into the three South Avenue homes, police said. Emergency responders took the driver to Delray Medical Center with complaints of pain, officials said. No one else was injured.
Photos of the scene showed the truck with a load of lightweight metal studs lopsided and in the front yard of a home.
All four homes affected by the collision were evacuated and the utilities were turned off, officials said.
Florida Highway Patrol Deputy Chief said, the truck swiped the three houses and added that a fourth home was also evacuated.
The Florida Highway Patrol Department and Paramedics said about six people were left critical after the crash.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the FHP.
