Five Critical After Mustang Crash Occurred In Boca Raton
Five people including three infants were injured when an out-of-control Ford Mustang plowed through a packed Boca Raton bagel shop, covering customers under a pile of broken glass and tables, officials and witnesses said.
Several people were eating breakfast inside the shop in Boca Raton when the Mustang suddenly came smashing through the wall.
“When it first happened, it felt like an explosion,” said a 34-year-old employee who was behind the cash register and watched in disbelief as his customers started flying around the store.
“The walls started to crash and fall down and all the dust and glass exploded from it.”
The employee said, a woman in her 20’s who had been sitting with her mother and three infant child were thrown to the back of the shop and pinned, he said.
Police said, the Ford Mustang driver lost control as he was traveling down Wellington, clipped a parked car near at 73rd Road and continued half a block, rocketing toward the crowded shop.
The injured victims were taken to a hospital in Broward County. The Florida Highway Patrol said, investigations are still ongoing, and urges anyone with relevant information concerning the crash to contact the department.
