7 Hurt After Horrific Palm Beach County Crash
A suspect is in custody after 7 people were injured when a vehicle plowed into a crowd watching a parade in the Mid-City section of Palm Beach County, police said.
Police Chief said, the suspect is being investigated for driving while intoxicated. The police chief was asked twice by the media if terrorism was suspected. While he didn’t say “No” he did say it looks like a case of DWI.
“We suspect that the subject was highly intoxicated,” he said. Seven people were injured and hospitalized after the crash with three victims in guarded condition. Two others declined to be hospitalized, Palm Beach County Emergency Services Chief said.
The victims range in age from as young as 3 or 4-years-old to adults in their 30’s and 40’s, said an FHP sergeant. Among the injured was one Palm Beach County police officer. FHP said the officer, who was on duty, was undergoing tests to determine the extent of her injuries.
One woman at the scene told The FHP Advocate that a silver truck whisked by her just feet away as she was walking through the intersection.
FHP said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
