A Palm Beach County woman is clinging to life after she drove the wrong way on the FDR, injuring three others, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The three-car accident on the highway happened opposite Delray Beach near S. Congress Avenue, according to witnesses and Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The 39-year-old woman was driving southbound in the northbound lane on the FDR when it collided with two other vehicles, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
She suffered critical injuries and a friend sitting in the passenger seat escaped with minor injuries, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
A police source said, the driver was confused and accidentally got on the highway heading the wrong way.
Three other people were injured in the accident and all four were taken to Delray Medical Center, according to Florida Highway Patrol Officials.
One person refused medical attention at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol Officials said.
All vehicles remained at the scene, cops said.
The Florida Highway Department said, the cause of the crash is still under investigation and urges anyone with information relating to the crash to contact the FHP Department
