Joel Amani, 32-year-old of Boynton Beach, has been identified as the man who was critically injured in the crash, according to a Boynton Beach Police spokeswoman.
The crash happened when a man was driving his Toyota Corolla east on Old Boynton Road and steered left onto the Southwest 8th Street, said the police.
The driver did not see Joel Amani on his Honda motorcycle when he was changing lanes. The collision caused Amani, who had a helmet on, to be ejected from the motorcycle, the spokeswoman reported.
According to the spokeswoman, police also believe that a tan or gold Honda Accord was also involved in the crash but the driver had fled the scene.
The motorcyclist who was involved in the crash had been listed in critical condition, according to the Boynton Beach police. The driver of the Corolla was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. FHP said, Boynton Beach Boulevard was closed after the crash.
Westbound Boynton Beach Boulevard had remained shut down from about NW 2nd Street to North Seacrest Boulevard, according to the police.
