A black BMW rear-ended a SUV on W. Palmetto Park Road, sending the struck vehicle hurtling into people crossing the street, authorities said.
Both drivers and three pedestrians were rushed to hospitals following the crash, with two of those in serious but stable condition, according to Florida Highway Patrol Officials.
The chain-reaction mishap unfolded with one cab at a light on Boca Raton waiting to turn onto W. Palmetto Park Road, FHP said.
The SUV was rear-ended by the BMW, propelling the vehicle into the pedestrians in the crosswalk.
No charges were filed, but the incident remains under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol Officials.
The collision came just days after a deadly crash in which a green Honda jumped a curb and mowed down several people waiting at a bus stop in Riviera Beach.
A 9-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man were also injured by the green Honda, whose driver was stripped of his hack license pending a probe into why he lost control in Riviera Beach near East 170th Street.
Florida Highway Officials said, the incident is still under investigation as charges have not been filed yet.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the FHP Department.
