The Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office identified three children injured in a two-vehicle crash in Port Salerno, Martin County.
The 6-year-old, 13-year-old and 9-year-old of Jensen Beach were all critically injured and taken to Delray Medical Center shortly after the crash, the Sherriff’s office said.
Investigators said, four children were in the car when a 2017 Ford Escape smashed into the 2005 Honda Accord in which they were passengers, Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash happened on Port Salerno in Martin County.
Both vehicles were driven by men whose names were not provided by authorities.
The crash forced the Honda Accord to hit a pole and a utility box, police authorities said.
The children were all flown to Delray Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Florida Highway Patrol said. An update on the child’s condition was not yet made available.
Police authorities and the Florida Highway Patrol officials did not say of the driver and a passenger in the Honda were hurt. The woman in the Escape was treated for minor injuries and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators have not said whether they expect to file criminal charges related to the crash.
