All Northbound Lanes In Interstate 95 Were Closed After Accident That Left One Man Dead
A fatal accident on I-95 has stopped traffic and forced the closure of the highway for hours.
Frank Jonathan, who was on a scooter, was hit by a driver in the northbound lanes on the Broward Road overpass. The impact had sent 34-year-old Frank Jonathan flying off of the bike. He was then run over by an 18-wheeler. His scooter was pinned down under the truck. The third vehicle then struck him.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the third vehicle did not notice he had hit someone until after the fact. As soon as he did, he contacted the police.
Chopper 4 was over the scene and spotted the yellow tarps covering Frank Jonathan’s body.
All 1-95 northbound lanes were closed to traffic. This caused delays for drivers attempting to get past the scene where the accident had occurred.
The highway has been re-opened to traffic. The identity of the drivers involved in the accident have not yet been revealed as police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials are still investigating the crash.
