Officials say a 29-year-old Lake Worth man ran a red light at the intersection of Lake Worth Road and Lyons Road striking the driver’s side rear door of a black 2006 Chevrolet with four occupants. Both drivers and the four passengers were severely injured in the crash.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, 81-year-old Rosaline Collins of Riviera Beach, was treated on scene and transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Rollins was transferred to Hospice of Palm Beach where she was later confirmed dead three days later as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash.

According to a news release and the Post, the 29-year-old man was heading home from work when the accident happened. He was unlicensed and under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He later told investigators he drank three or four beers while at work. He admitted to living in Florida for seven years and had never obtained a driver’s license.

He faces many charges, including DUI manslaughter and driving without a license.
