A 55-year-old man and his 11-year-old son are both critical after driving through a stop sign and crashing with a tractor-trailer in The Acreage, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Léonard Gregory was driving a 1999 Toyota sedan north on Hall Boulevard. He didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and collided with a westbound tractor-trailer, driven by a 38-year-old man.

Both vehicles ended up in a wooded area on the north side of Northlake, west of Hall Boulevard. The tractor-trailer flipped, but the driver was not seriously injured.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue authorities said, Gregory and his 11-year-old son were critical at the scene. Records indicate they lived about 4 miles east off Northlake Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol said, they are still trying to determine if either drugs or alcohol had a part to play in the crash and urge anyone with any information concerning the car crash to contact the Florida Highway Patrol as soon as possible.
