Broward County Police are still investigating after a 17-year-old boy crashed a car with a 9-year-old passenger on I-95.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said they got a call from concerned foster parents who woke up to find the two young boys gone with their Lexus.
“They thought the kids had taken the vehicle to possibly go look for their dog,” said a Broward County officer.
The police said the boy was seen driving all over the road around Pembroke Pines.
A caller that was behind the two boys followed them to Pembroke Pines, where the two struck the caller’s Nissan Rogue. The two continued onto I-95 and eventually crashed into a median in Broward County.
“When I got there, they were sitting by the guard rail just like normal. No hollering or crying,” said a truck driver.
The 17-year-old and his 9-year-old passenger were both rushed to a nearby hospital in Coral Springs. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
