A 43-year-old man, Zack Brown, was injured after his dirt bike hit the back of a Jeep near Palm Springs, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Zack Brown was headed eastbound on Melaleuca Lane on a 2002 Suzuki dirt bike that did not have lights or mirrors and is not legal to drive on the street, investigators said. A 28-year-old woman was headed westbound on Melaleuca Lane when she made a left turn onto Davis Road. As she made her way through the turn, Zack hit the rear passenger side of the Jeep and Zack was thrown from the dirt bike, according to the report.
Zack, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The car rolled over multiple times until it came to rest on Village Boulevard, a four-lane road parallel to I-95. The crash blocked northbound traffic on Village Boulevard briefly, according to a crash report.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but alcohol has been ruled out.
The 28-year-old driver had minor injuries, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
No charges have been filed yet and FHP is urging anyone with information concerning the crash to reach out to them.
