Wellington Car Crash Sends Deputy And One Other To the Hospital
A Palm Beach County Sheriff was taken to a West Palm Beach hospital and another man was taken into custody after a car chase ended in a very serious car crash collision.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies were chasing after an armed carjacker on Wellington Avenue when the collision had happened.
According to the sheriff’s office, the carjacker allegedly fired shots before he crashed into an unmarked Palm Beach County Sheriff’s vehicle. The force of the crash had caused the sheriff’s car, which was parked, to roll over doing a full turn.
The deputy was seriously injured and was later flown to the hospital with a head injury. Palm Beach Sheriff Office said, that the deputy was in a severe shock at the scene but is expected to live.
A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said, the carjacking occurred in Wellington in Palm Beach County. A Palm Beach County Sheriff told The Post’s news that the carjacking victim is okay but however, he had received a cut from being pistol-whipped.
