A Martin County man was fatally struck by a SUV while holding his son’s hand on an Upper East Side street.
He was a rising-star golf instructor who “had everything going for him,” a friend said.
Henry Larry of Riviera Beach had seen his life change drastically in the past year when he moved from Martin County to Palm Beach County, got a new house and landed gigs at two prestigious golf courses.
“He had everything going for him his attitude, his looks, his enthusiasm,” his landlord said.
Larry was hit by a black Mercedes SUV while crossing East 62nd Street with his 8-year-old son, police said. The pair was not in the crosswalk.
The driver, which has not yet been identified by police, was issued a summons for driving without a license.
Brown was unconscious and rushed to the nearest hospital by paramedics at the scene. The driver is in stable condition at Delray Medical Center with head and leg injuries, his 8-year-old son is also in critical condition, officials said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Anyone with relevant information concerning what may have caused the crash is asked to contact the Department.
