A girl has been confirmed dead and four other sustained injuries in a car crash in Pompano Beach, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
A 17-yearold girl from Delray Beach was confirmed dead at the scene, said Florida Highway Patrol officials.
Deputies disclosed that a 16-year-old boy was seen driving a 2007 Toyota with four other minors inside the car when he had lost control on the 1200 block of Northwest 15th Street.
The car then steered off the road, struck a palm tree as well as the metal pole of the crossing arms of the railways, and finally crash into the BMW the girls were in.
Investigators and the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the Toyota was stolen from Coconut Creek.
The other three minors, ranging from ages of 10 to 13 and the 16-year old Toyota driver were taken to Broward Health care with various degrees of injuries,” the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies are still investigating. The sheriff office sends its condolences to the families of the deceased victim who was also involved in the car crash.
It is unclear if charges will be file or not.
