A Honda Accord crashed into a truck and then careened into a Riviera Beach hardware store, the Florida Highway Patrol and witnesses said.
The Honda was heading north on Old Dixie Way near West Blue Heron Boulevard when the driver struck the black truck, Florida Highway Patrol and Police officials said.
The Honda hit a truck, lost control and swerved, said the manager of the hardware store.
“I heard a big bang and squeaking tires,” the manager said.
The car then hurtled through the window of the home-improvement store, injuring 4 employees and 5 customers.
“We ran to the end of the shop,” said a 34-year-old shaken shopper. “I thought it was a truck. I thought I was going to die.” The Honda driver and a passenger were taken to Delray Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police officials said.
Florida Highway Patrol officials decided to withhold the identities of the employees and customers injured in the accident.
Florida Highway Patrol said, all the victims were taken to a hospital in Palm Beach County with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses claimed the Honda was speeding, but authorities said there was no criminality in the crash.
