A motorcyclist was struck by an unlicensed cab driver in Palm Beach County, police officials said.
The 28-year-old motorcyclist was riding south on Wellington Avenue alongside the cab when the driver, a 46-year-old man, made a left turn onto East 108th Street and struck him, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The motorcyclist was dragged for several feet before the cab finally came to a halt, the Palm Beach Sheriff Office said.
The victim was rushed to nearby hospital in Boynton Beach, officials said.
The 46-year-old cab driver stayed at the scene where he was given a breathalyzer test and passed, police officials said.
The cab driver, however, had a suspended license and was taken into custody, Palm Beach Police officials said.
He was charged with driving with a suspended license and received a violation for not yielding the right of way.
Another crash occurred in Boca Raton where a 25-year-old was left fighting for her life after she was struck by a car driven by a 42-year-old.
The young woman was driving along Interstate 95 when she turned onto Wellington Avenue at the same time as a gray Suzuki Grand Vitara, officials said.
The 25-year-old was taken to the Delray Medical Center by paramedics.
FHP said, both crashes are still being investigated and they are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the police.
