Car Crash On Interstate 95 Sends Three People To The Hospital

Three people were taken to Palm Beach Hospital after two semi-trailers collided on Interstate 95.

The West Palm Beach police department reported that a 35-year-old man of West Palm Beach was traveling northbound on the right-hand lane near milepost 156. He lost control of and ran off the right-hand side of the roadway.

The 35- year old man attempted to correct his trajectory to the left and crossed the center line into the left lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol officials.

He struck the right side of the trailer being hauled by Kelvin Benjamin of Hobe Sound, who was traveling in the northbound left lane.

The 35-year-old man went off the right side of the roadway again striking the guardrail and the bridge support column. The 35-year-old driver and two of his passengers received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Delray Medical Center.

The West Palm Beach Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Boca Raton Fire Department, Ed’s Towing, Florida Highway Patrol officials, and The West Palm Department of Transportation.

The wreck closed the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Wellington Road 7.
