Two-Vehicle Crash In Palm Beach County Left Five People Hospitalized
One woman and four others are in the hospital after two cars crashed near the Palm Beach Outlets mall, West Palm Beach Police report.
The crash happened near the intersection of Congress Avenue and Forum Place. According to a police statement, a black Toyota Rav 4 was northbound on Congress and a silver Honda was southbound when one driver lost control and the vehicles collided head-on.
The details beyond that are scarce. One person was taken to the hospital by paramedics at the scene. The police are not revealing the identity of the victim after being taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger in his vehicle also went to a local hospital, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and is “expected to be fine,” police said.
A 14-year-old passenger and a toddler in the second vehicle was also rushed to a nearby hospital.
The Florida Highway Patrol did not say what must have caused the crash, but it is believed drugs or alcohol may have been the main cause.
The intersection remained closed while investigators and the Florida Highway Patrol officials worked. They are expected to open the road soon.
