A car carrying two on-duty FHP officers was involved in a head-on collision in West Palm Beach, police authorities and Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The officers were in a Ford Taurus heading south -n West Palm Beach, police and FHP said. A northbound Mercury Sable with three people inside crossed over a double yellow solid line and hit the Taurus head-on.
The Sable driver, a 26-year-old man, was critically injured. Two other people in the Sable were reported critical. An FHP spokeswoman said, the agents sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.
West Palm Beach Police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating the crash. Authorities have not mentioned any factors that may have contributed to the accident, but alcohol or drugs is not suspected to be a cause of the car crash.
