FHP Still Investigating Car Crashes That Left Three People Critical
Three people were critically injured by drivers in separate accidents, authorities said.
The predawn carnage began when a 44-year-old, was fatally struck by a black SUV as he was leaving his brother’s 41st-birthday party, relatives said.
The 44-year-old was sitting in his car with other family members waiting for his son to leave the venue near Davie and Riviera Beach when he got out of the vehicle and was struck.
Also, an Uber driver was struck by a car while retrieving something from the back seat of his vehicle parked near Jensen Beach in Martin County, cops said. The Uber driver was rushed to a nearby hospital.
A 29-year-old woman was also clipped by a driver when she stepped in front of a minivan while trying to cross Vero Beach in Indian River County. She was rushed to Indian River County General Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, police said.
Police say the causes of the crashes are still under investigation.
