Several family members are said to have seen the accident, the victim’s aunt said. Others had crossed the street ahead of the victim, she added.

As he headed across, entering a turn lane, the report says the victim suddenly looked terrified and darted into the path of a vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol officials, who say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factored in the crash, found the victim lying unconscious on the road. He was later taken to the hospital.

He would give his clothes and shoes to friends in need and was bringing fresh fruit to a homeless man he had seen the day before when the accident occurred. “If all of us were more like him, this world would be so different,” adds his aunt.

The Florida Highway Patrol Department said, the car accident is still under investigation and encourages anyone with relevant information relating to the crash to contact the Department.
