FHP sources said, the 38-year-old driver was traveling northbound on South Avenue near Boynton Beach when he got distracted, lost control of his vehicle and jumped the curb.

The driver, whose identity was not released, plowed into a parked car before careening into the two South Avenue homes, police said. Emergency responders transported the driver to Delray Medical Center, officials said. No one else was injured.

All two homes affected by the collision were evacuated and the utilities were turned off, officials said.

Florida Highway Patrol Deputy Chief said, the Toyota swiped the two houses and added that a third home was also evacuated.

The Florida Highway Patrol Department and paramedics said about eight people were left critical after the crash, including the driver.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the FHP.
