A 48-year-old man and his 26-year old son was injured at the scene of the crash that happened in Martin County, according to police authorities. Both were from Texas.
Investigators said, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and hit a SUV, injuring two passengers and leaving the driver and two other passengers severely injured.
A Martin County Deputy said, five men had to be extricated from the GMC truck, which was pulling a trailer carrying a race car and other equipment.
The driver of the SUV was reported in critical condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver’s name was not released. The deputy said, he was transported to a hospital in Martin County for treatment of injuries including several broken bones.
Investigations are still ongoing and FHP suspects drugs or alcohol to be part of the wreck, however, that hasn’t been proven yet. The names of the victims are still withheld.
