28-Year-Old Driver Caused Crash That Send One To the Hospital

Michael Roddy was critically injured in the wreck, which happened at Boynton 1-95. He was flown to the Delray Medical Center by paramedics.

Michael Roddy was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander northbound when he struck a disabled 2000 Freightliner truck just south of the exit ramp at Boynton Beach Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The driver, a 28-year-old man of Hillsboro Beach, had placed emergency pylons behind the truck before the wreck occurred. He was not severely injured in the crash.

The cause of the wreck, which delayed traffic to Gateway Boulevard remained under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Michael was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. Tests results were not available on whether drugs or alcohol played any role in the wreck, the Florida Highway Patrol and police authorities said.

The 28-year-old Hillsboro Beach driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Witnesses claim that the Florida Highway Patrol officials had announced that the 28-year -old driver would not be charged as the cause of the crash cannot be entirely blame on him.
