46-year-old Tory Nicks was driving in Boynton Beach when he was T-boned by a SUV going 70 miles per hour.
Tory was a new dad and personal trainer living in Riviera Beach. The 46-year-old can’t walk, speak well or eat without the help of his family and mother due to injuries from the crash.
“His 53-year-old wife spoke to us over Skype while she was taking care of him in Wisconsin.” a FHP officer said.
“I went my whole life making sure he didn’t break a bone just for him to move to another state and get caught up in something that had nothing to do with him,” his mother said.
Tory was on his way to a client for his personal training business when a SUV being pursued by police, crashed into him.
In a police dash cam video, you can see the suspect’s Chevy Tahoe crash into Tory’s Mazda Portege. The Chevy was driven by a 39-year-old, according to the crash report. The 39-year-old driver had run a stop sign.
The crash report shows two officers were pursuing the suspect.
We reviewed the Riviera Beach police policy, which states that in a pursuit, officers can exceed maximum speed limits, so long as they don’t endanger life or property.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
