A three-vehicle crash involving a Lakeshore Middle School bus, pickup truck and a tractor-trailer was reported near Belle Glade in Palm Beach County, according to Florida Highway Department.
The 51000 block of North U.S. Highway was down to one lane for several hours, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials.
The Florida Highway Patrol said, the tractor-trailer rolled over and collided with a pickup truck then crashed into a school bus.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, five children who were on the bus. They were taken to a local hospital for observation, out of an abundance of caution. The students are OK, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The man who was driving the pickup truck was airlifted to the nearest hospital. His condition is still unknown.
Lanes reopened several hours later.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency investigating the crash. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol Department or the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
