Man That Struck Victim In West Palm Beach May Not Be Charged
According to the police, a 36-year-old male was brutally struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Lytle Street and South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.
The car was seen traveling northbound when a pedestrian was hit. It seems the person was attempting to cross the street, West Palm Beach police Sergeant explained.
No drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, the sergeant added. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
The car driver was shaken up after knowing the victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
The driver was on his way to drop his young kids at a relatives’ house when he had run into the victim.
“I saw someone crossing out of nowhere and he got hit by the car. I had lost a little bit of control already,” he said.
It still remains unclear if charges will be filed or not. The police have not released the victim’s identity yet. Anyone with relevant information concerning the crash is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol department or the Palm Beach Sheriff Office as soon as possible.
