Separate Car Crashes Around Florida Left Several People Critical
A delivery driver was injured in White City in St. Lucie County when a trucker accidentally backed over him, cops said.
A 44-year-old White City resident had just hopped out of the cab of his 18-wheeler after pulling up to the market’s main terminal in St. Lucie County when a fellow truck driver ran him over while backing up to a loading dock, according to police.
The man was rushed to Delray Medical Center. The other truck driver remained on the scene and has not been charged with a crime.
The trucker was the fifth person to be injured by a vehicle, police said.
In Martin County, a 53-year-old man was struck and left critical when he tried to run across the Hobe Sound Expressway near Jensen Beach.
A SUV slammed into the intoxicated man near Exit 24, sending his body flying down the roadway. The victim was later rushed to a hospital in Martin County.
Another 28-year-old motorcyclist was speeding down 140th Avenue in Broward County when a 55-year-woman in a Toyota Highlander struck him as she was turning onto the same road from Coconut Creek Street, cops said.
The woman remained at the scene and has not been charged with a crime.
