Nine Hillary’s High School students were sent to a local trauma center after a tractor-trailer collided with their bus, according to FHP.
“I thought I was going to die,” 17-year-old Bonny Frank told WPBF. “I don’t want to ride the bus anymore. I’m scared.”
The sophomore says she and other students were taken to St. Mary’s Trauma Center after the tractor-trailer hit their bus on 45th Street.
Bonny says she suffered injuries to her upper body and lower back when her head slammed into the window.
“There were people flying into windows,” Bonny said.
Tyler Peterson said he is one of the students who hit a window after being thrown from one side of the bus to the other.
Bethany Muller told WPBF her and many of the students were injured.
“We had to get X-rays. Some of us got nauseous. So, other than that, some of us are OK,” she said.
The students said they were very thankful for their bus driver, who was uninjured during the accident.
“Our bus driver saved our lives,” they said.
The students were sent home for the day. The FHP Department is asking anyone with relevant details concerning the crash to contact the Department.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
