Florida Highway Patrol troopers said, a drowsy driver caused a crash at a toll plaza in Palm Beach.
Toll booth cameras caught the crash. The crash happened on Interstate 95 in Palm beach County.
The video showed a Chevrolet Silverado truck being pushed forward after a GMC Envoy slammed into the back of the truck. The impact of the crash pushed the truck vertical and the Envoy ended up pinned underneath the truck. The truck slammed into a camera, a light display and two control panels at the toll booth plaza, according to an FHP report.
The 47-year-old driving the truck, Michael Tony, and two other of his passengers remain at Delray Beach Regional Medical Center. Michael suffered a broken leg and his sister said he had a seizure that placed him in intensive care.
Troopers said the driver of the Envoy faces a citation for careless driving.
FHP troopers said 4,123 crashes happened statewide as a result of drowsy driving.
According to data released by FHP, Palm Beach County where the toll booth crash occurred saw 23 crashes due to drowsy driving.
