A Pompano Beach woman was hospitalized in a crash along Interstate 95, an official with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
MaryKate Joe was driving her Isuzu Rodeo north along I-95 when her car was hit by a Saturn driven by a 20-year-old man of Miami Gardens, said a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.
After colliding, both cars swerved onto the right shoulder just south of Atlantic Boulevard, the FHP spokesman said.
MaryKate was severely injured and taken to the hospital by paramedics at the scene.
The 20-year-old driver had minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital, FHP said.
The accident remains under investigation, but investigators believe the 20-year-old was at fault in the crash, the FHP spokesman said.
Her blood was taken at the scene and will be tested for drugs and alcohol, he added.
“Do you have any information that can assist in our investigations? If yes, we encourage you to contact the FHP Department as every information we receive will be treated with utmost importance,” the spokesman added.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
