Officials say a 38-year-old Lake Worth man ran a red light at the intersection of Gun Club Road and Havervill Road striking the driver’s side rear door of a black 2006 Chevrolet with three occupants. Both drivers and the three passengers were severely injured in the crash.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, 88-year-old Deborah Travis of Riviera Beach, was treated at the scene and transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Deborah was transferred to the General Hospital of Palm Beach as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash, paramedics and police officials said.

According to a news release and the Post, the 38-year-old man was heading home from work when the accident happened. He was unlicensed and under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He later told investigators he drank three or four beers while at work. He admitted to living in Florida for seven years and had never obtained a driver’s license.

He faces many charges, including DUI and driving without a license.
