Four people from Italy were among the injured were when a van carrying them veered off course and struck a SUV before overturning in Palm Beach County, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The van’s driver, thought to be a trafficker, fled the scene, two Florida Highway Patrol officials added.
Three people in the SUV were reported in critical condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Three children were among those injured in the crash that occurred between Wellington and Boynton Beach.

The victims were all taken to Delray Medical Center where they are currently receiving medical attention, Florida Highway Patrol Officials said. The driver is being investigated as Florida Highway Patrol officials are determined to find out if alcohol has a part to play in the accident.
