One Killed, Six Others Critically Injured After Two Vehicle Car Crash In Delray Beach

A 15-year-old boy has died and six others are injured following a rollover crash in Delray Beach.

The victim killed was identified as 15-year-old Jose Luis Alfonso who was a passenger. The driver was identified as a 15-year-old boy. The other five passengers were identified as Mark Mora, 15, Jhosavie Selaya, 16, Habeb Abdel-Nabi, 13, Angelo Columna, 13 and Santiago Barrantes, 17.

Officials say crews responded to the scene at the Northbound Turnpike and Atlantic Avenue.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, seven teenage boys were inside a Toyota Four Runner when the car went off the road while attempting to overtake the left hand curve on the entrance ramp to the Turnpike. The rear-end of the car then spun in a clockwise motion causing it to roll several times and crashing into a trailer.

Six passengers were ejected from the car. No one in the trailer was injured.

The driver and passengers were transported to Delray Hospital and Boca West Hospitals.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the Florida Highway Patrol Department is urging anyone with relevant information relating or concerning what may have caused the crash to contact the Florida Highway Patrol Department or any other relevant police body.
