Woman Charged For Car Crash After Striking A Tacoma Driven By A Wellington Woman, Leaving That Woman critical
A Palm Beach Lawyer has been cited in a crash west of Lantana that sent a car into a canal, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 41-year old, who lives west of Lake Worth, was at a red light on Winston Trails Boulevard east of Jog Road and was turning right into Hypoluxo Road when her Honda Fit collided with a Nissan Altima traveling west on Hypoluxo, the Palm Beach sheriff’s office and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The Altima then struck a Toyota Tacoma driven by Rebecca George, of Wellington, who lost control and went through a metal guardrail and into a canal, where his car overturned, according to a report.
Rebecca was pulled from the water in critical condition, the report said.
The 41-year old, and the other victims, listed in the report as a 25-year old, of Delray Beach, received minor injuries, the report said.
In a court hearing, the 41-year old was declared at fault and cited for violating a traffic signal, according to the sheriff’s office and court records. The court suspended his license for six months, fined him $1,000 and ordered that he attend 12 hours of driving school.
The 41-year old said she never saw the Altima strike Rebecca’s car and send it into the canal, and was shaken to later learn the woman was hospitalized.
