Daughter And Father Critically Injured In Palm Beach County North Crash That’s Left Two Others Injured

A learner driver has been critically injured and her dad who was her supervising driver is also critically injured after a two-vehicle crash in Palm Beach County north.

Police say the 19-year-old L-plater was learning to drive a Suzuki Swift in Wellington, north of Palm Beach County, under the supervision of her 35-year-old father.

When they reached the intersection of Old Northern Road and Boca Raton Avenue, their car collided with a Ford Falcon forcing both cars off the road.

A chief inspector told reporters today that multiple emergency crews, including seven ambulance crews and a medical helicopter, rushed to the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital.

“The 35-year-old father, the 19-year old girl, and two other passengers in the Swift, are currently at Delray Medical Center, they were all airlifted there in critical conditions,” FHP said.

“The 40-year-old driver of the Falcon was not seriously injured, but he was taken to another hospital to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.”

Old Northern Rd was blocked in both directions after the incident and was expected to be closed for some time.

“It’s absolutely tragic when these things occur – all drivers should be aware to take care,” the chief inspector said.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call the Florida Highway Patrol.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Shuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving.  “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles.  If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
