A motorcyclist died in a crash with a car on Lantana Road, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The wreck happened near the intersection with Willowood Lane.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol said a 2006 Suzuki, driven by a 29-year old man of suburban Lake Worth, Florida, was traveling eastbound on Lantana Road.
A 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse was also traveling westbound on Lantana Road attempting to turn left onto Willowood Lane, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
A Palm Beach Sheriff Office report said as the Suzuki approached at a high rate of speed, the Eclipse turned left into its path.
This caused the front of the motorcycle to strike the passenger side rear of the Eclipse.
The 29-year old was ejected as a result of the collision, struck the ground and pronounced dead at the scene. The Palm Beach Sheriff Office said the 29-year old was wearing a helmet when the wreck occurred.
The driver of the Eclipse was transported to a hospital for minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol officials said the cause of the crash is still under investigation and urges anyone with relevant information concerning the crash to contact FHP as soon as possible.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
