One Man Has Been Killed After Car Crash That Closed All Northbound Lanes In Interstate 95
A fatal accident on I-95 has snarled traffic and forced the closure of the highway for hours.
Teddy Franklin, who was on a scooter, got hit by a driver in the northbound lanes on the Broward Road overpass. The impact had sent the 42-year old man flying off of the bike. He then unfortunately was run over by another 18-wheeler and his scooter was pinned down under the truck. The third vehicle then struck him.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, The driver of the third vehicle did not notice he had hit someone until after the fact. As soon as he did, he contacted the police.
Chopper 4 over the scene had also spotted yellow tarps covering Mr. Franklin’s body.
All I-95 northbound lanes were closed to traffic. Drivers were forced to leave the roadway. This caused traffic pileup and delays for drivers attempting to get past the scene where the accident had occurred.
The highway had been re-opened to traffic after several hours. The identity of the drivers involved in the accident had not yet been revealed as police and the Florida Highway Patrol officials are still investigating the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “This was a terrible accident here in Palm Beach County. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
