A yellow cab rear-ended another taxi on a street in Palm Beach County, sending the struck vehicle hurtling into people crossing the street, authorities said.
Both drivers and three pedestrians were rushed to hospitals following the smash, with two of those in serious but stable condition, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
The chain-reaction mishap unfolded with one cab at a light on Southern Blvd. waiting to turn onto another street in the county, a PBSO official said.
That taxi was rear-ended by another cab, propelling the stationary vehicle into the pedestrians in the crosswalk.
No charges were filed, but the incident remained under investigation by PBSO.
The collision came just days after a deadly crash in which a green taxi jumped a curb and mowed down several people waiting at a bus stop in Palm Beach County.
A 22-year-old woman and an 8-year old boy are both in critical condition, according to PBSO.
The main cause of the crash is still unknown and PBSO is urging anyone with relevant information concerning the crash to contact the Palm Beach Sheriff Office.
