A family of six has crashed their vehicle into a BMW and then plunged into a flooded canal.
The body of a 31-year old missing female was found in Martin County. The female was last seen driving family’s maroon Honda Pilot. It struck a BMW before falling into a canal Oak Street, reports the Florida Highway Patrol.
Searchers smelled gasoline a half-mile north of the reported crash site and found the vehicle submerged.
The family whose personal items were also found in the canal had been traveling from Boynton Beach to their home in Martin County.
FHP reports showed that two people in the BMW were injured and are currently being attended to medical officials.
Florida Highway Patrol suggests the crash was an accident.
The BMW driver may have tried to pull over in a rainstorm but misjudged where the road ended, before colliding with the other car, FHP authorities say.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Cases involving accidents with cars in the rain are always subject to heightened scrutiny. Unfortunately, in our practice, we have seen numerous instances where drivers were driving too fast in less than ideal conditions.”
