A Hobe Sound man was critically injured after a two-vehicle crash in Loxahatchee Groves, the Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and D Road.
A Martin County Sheriff’s Office report said a 2014 Toyota sport-utility vehicle was traveling west on Okeechobee Boulevard.
A 2004 Ford pickup truck, driven by a 21-year-old man of Hobe Sound identified as Kendrick, was traveling eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard.
MSO and the Florida Highway Patrol officials said as the two vehicles neared each other, the driver of the Toyota drove partially into the eastbound lane, and a crash occurred.
The left front of each vehicle impacted each other causing both to spin until coming to a stop. Kendrick and his passenger were injured on scene.
The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
No drugs or alcohol were involved.
The sheriff’s office report and police authorities say no charges are pending due to the fact that the major cause of the car crash is still under investigation, FHP said it isn’t certain if alcohol or drugs had a part to play in the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
