10 Students Hospitalized After School Bus Crash In Fort Pierce

Police report a school bus transporting St. Lucie Elementary school students home was in a traffic accident.

Three of the students were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center by ambulance while seven students were taken to other hospitals according to law enforcement and other witnesses near the crash scene.

Paramedics at the scene said the injuries the victims sustained did not appear serious.

District and school staff were on-site at the hospital, according to a close family member of one of the victims.

All other students were cleared by medical personnel on the scene and allowed to board another bus home.

The driver of the school bus was not injured, and local law enforcement is investigating the cause of this accident.
