A 35-year-old motorcyclist has been identified after he crashed and ran off an Interstate 95 ramp in Palm Beach County during rush hour in South Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 35-year-old motorcyclist was riding a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R eastbound on 45th street. The motorcyclist was entering the northbound entrance ramp but failed to make the curve causing his motorcycle to collide with a truck.
FHP said when his motorcycle hit the truck it caused the driver to be separated from his Suzuki and fall about 60 feet from the entrance ramp onto the interstate below.
He came to a final rest on the paved shoulder and was critically injured at the scene.
The truck driver and three of his passengers were both unconscious and severely injured after the crash, although witnesses said he was unconscious due to the shock.
The crash caused the entrance to I-95 northbound to be closed causing major delays for commuters.
The FHP report did not indicate the motorcyclist’s city or state of residence.
The FHP said another 26-year-old passenger in the truck that collided with the motorcyclist was critically injured.
Investigators asks that if anyone has any information about the accident call the Florida Highway Patrol department.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
