All southbound lanes were blocked on Interstate 95 at Exit 57 in Boynton Beach due to a tractor-trailer crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol officials said that one person is dead.
The victim, Axel Ortiz, 33, was initially taken to a local hospital by paramedics from the crash scene. He was later reported deceased at the hospital.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and a box truck near W. Boynton Beach Boulevard. Florida Highway Patrol officials said four vehicles were involved.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one of the vehicles swerved to avoid debris in the road which caused a chain-reaction crash.
Drivers were urged to seek an alternate route. Lanes are back open after being shut down on I- 95 southbound for hours during rush hour.
The Florida Highway Patrol is encouraging anyone with additional information concerning the accident to contact them or the nearest police department.
