A pharmacist had just sat down with a patient when the walls exploded around them.
A car, driven by a 24-year-old man, slammed into a pharmacy in Fellsmere blowing out walls, breaking equipment, and halting the normalcy of a routine day at the store.
The pharmacist was in the room next door when he heard a loud boom and then watched helplessly as the room where he has kept all his pharmaceuticals for more than two decades broke apart.
“I looked up, and there’s a car all the way through the building,” he said. “Thank God no one was in that room. They all would have died.”
Five people in the store were injured in the crash, including the car’s driver and three of his friends. None of the injuries were life threatening, a doctor that works at the pharmacy said.
A customer who was in the restroom at the time of the accident was nearly pinned against a sink when the car crashed into the building, while another person was inches from getting covered by a crumbling wall, according to another customer.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
