A 36-year-old woman is charged in connection with a car crash that caused a Jeep to spin out of control and kill a woman who was on the side of the road waiting to cross the street.
The 36-year-old woman of Boynton Beach is charged with vehicular homicide, a first-degree misdemeanor. The charge was filed and an arraignment date has not yet been set.
A 51-year-old woman died as a result of a car crash that occurred on Oleander Ave, close to Sunrise Blvd near White City, the Palm Beach Sheriff Office said.
The 51-year-old was standing at the light facing west on Oleander Ave waiting to cross the street, police authorities said.
A man in 2018 Jeep was driving north on Sunrise Blvd. The 36-year-old woman stopped her 2008 Ford Focus at the red light facing the opposite direction while she waited to turn left onto Oleander Ave. from Fort PBSO say.
She turned left and crashed into the side of the Jeep, police reports say. The Jeep spun counterclockwise and struck the 51-year-old woman.
The Ford driver told police at the scene that she waited until the light turned red before she turned, police reports say. She said she never saw the Jeep.
